Jour 365 : Happy Anniversary Self !

I really can't believe it's been a year since I took this Thalys train from Paris to come and live in Bielefeld. A year that I eat crazy things and miss foie gras. A year since I stopped talking in French in my daily life and I started getting used to crazy customs. So yeah, I still can't write this in German, but today I'm translating this article in English so that everyone can understand (am I not so nice ?).

This year was so full of, well... everything. I don't really know how to summarize it. So just like a lot of German people, I'll start by talking about the weather. I lived 4 saisons in Bielefeld, but it felt like only one : rain. I think I never really got used to it. Probably because I love complaining about it.

This year was extremely full eating and drinking experiences. I went to so many restaurants, was invited to try out different beers, and even the Mensa is often offering typical German food. There is as well our 'cooking-movie-evening' every Wednesday (at least we try to keep it every Wednesday), when I meet Stefan, Julia, Christian and Markus for a cooking time all together. We had the '91 cup cakes night', the red wine sirop, a lot of awesome lasagnas and Bob Marley cocktails. Gaining weight was so worth it guys, thank you so much !

This year was also my travelling year. I didn't go too far (no yet, he he !), but that was so great ! So thank you Sophie for our awesome week in London, Bernhard and Sarah for taking me to Aachen, Marianne, Seb, Adrien, Quentin, Diane and Noemie for welcoming me so well in Paris, Seb again for all those magic weekends, Théo, Clovis, Soizic and Violaine for our trip to Lyon and to all my friends who were there for me when I came back home.

Even though our two countries are so close to each other, they differ in so many ways when it comes to actually live in the other one. And I loved discovering this new way of life, where people eat at 18, are totally ok with gay mariage, and simply know how to enjoy time.
So I also thank all the people I shared my daily life with : Bernhard for all the pictures we took (and will take !) together, my entire theater group, my impro group (specially for believing in it), Moni for her endless smile, Stefan for being the best complaining coworker ever (and so much more), Julia and Christian for taking me to the Heide Park and the tattoo convention, Sam and Matt for the USA celebrations and all the friends I spent time with !

I add a big 'thank you' to everyone who came to see me in Bielefeld, who supported me during the hard times (especially Anthony), who kept in touch despite the distance, and who were patient enough to listen to me for hours about Germany. Guys, I would not no what I would be without you !

Here we are, I hope I did not forget anyone. That was hell of year, I can't wait for what's next. And really soon new posts, where I'm not just an Arschkriecher.
